Federal Aviation Administration names VT drone test site

Virginia Tech has been doing research on unmanned drones for years. Wednesday as WDBJ7 New River Valley reporter Orlando Salinas reports, the university took another huge step in that research.
Wednesday afternoon, Virginia Tech mechanical engineer Kevin Kochersberger is doing a pretty good play-by-play, describing a car crash at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute in Blacksburg.
Topped in a Virginia Tech ball cap, Kochersberger describes how the fake car crash and fake hazardous materials spill have first responders running for safety.
Then Kochersberger explains how a high tech drone, hovering overhead, could make a real difference in real life.
