USF receives $1.7M grant for marine research in the Antarctic

The University of South Florida's Center for Drug Discovery and Innovation and the department of chemistry received a $1.7 million grant to conduct research in the Antarctic in collaboration with the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Bill Baker, professor of chemistry and director of the USF CDDI, will lead the program, joined by colleagues from UAB — Jim McClintock, professor of physiology and ecology of aquatic and marine invertebrates, and Chuck Amsler, professor of marine ecophysiology and chemical ecology, according to a statement.
